Cookies are small files stored by your browser. NepTown uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries to keep the site working, remember your display preference, and support advertising. This policy explains the main categories and the choices available to you.
Essential cookies
These are needed for core features such as logging in, protecting forms, and keeping your session secure. The site may not work properly without them.
| Name | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Identifies your login session and stores temporary messages. | Up to 24 hours in production |
csrftoken |
Helps protect forms against cross-site request forgery. | Up to 1 year |
Preference storage
NepTown stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser's
localStorage under the key neptown-theme. This is
not sent to our server with every request. It remains until you clear site
data or change the setting. Blocking it may cause the site to follow your
system theme instead of your saved choice.
Advertising cookies
NepTown displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners
may set cookies or use similar technologies to deliver, limit, and measure
ads, and to personalize advertising where permitted. Examples of Google
advertising cookies can include __gads, __gpi, and
IDE, but names and durations may change. Google's own policies
govern how it uses this information.
In regions where consent is required for personalized advertising, a consent mechanism should be presented before those technologies are used. NepTown is reviewing its consent setup and does not currently claim to operate a certified consent management platform. The availability of personalized advertising may depend on your region, browser settings, and Google's configuration.
Other third-party resources
NepTown loads fonts, icons, and styling from third-party content delivery networks, including Google Fonts, jsDelivr, and cdnjs. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests a file. NepTown does not currently run its own analytics, advertising pixels, or social media tracking scripts beyond the Google AdSense script described above.
Managing cookies
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage.
- You can review Google's advertising and personalization controls at adssettings.google.com.
- Google's information about advertising technologies is available at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from logging in or submitting forms. Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference. NepTown does not currently respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we add or remove services, cookies, or consent tools. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
